Re-elected to the 35th Assembly District in November 2006 and represents portions of Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.  Serves as chair of the Assembly Banking and Finance Committee and vice chair of the Joint Committee on Emergency Management.  Also serves on other Assembly committees, including Business and Professions, Health and Insurance.  Appointed to the Little Hoover Commission by Speaker of the Assembly Fabian Núñez in April 2005.
