Description of Study
On the request of the Legislature, the Little Hoover Commission is reviewing the regulation of acupuncture in California. SB 1951 and AB 1943 requested that the Commission make recommendations on specific issues by September 2004. SB 1951 (Figueroa 2002) comprises the core of the work required. Key issues include scope of practice, educational requirements and examinations. To view the specific legislation which details the questions that the Commission will address, please select SB 1951 or AB 1943.
As with all Commission studies, public input will be important to the outcome of this study, and is encouraged to be in written form addressing the specific issues that the Commission is studying, per SB 1951 and AB 1943.
