Elected to the 16th Senate District in November 2002 and represents portions of Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties. Serves as chair of the Senate Governmental Organization Committee. Also serves on other Senate committees, including Agriculture; Appropriations; Banking, Finance & Insurance; Business, Professions and Economic Development; and, Environmental Quality.
